Germany’s popularity as a travel destination continues. In 2015 official statistics registered an increase of 13% more overnights stays from Ireland with a further upward trend in 2016. So let’s check out some of the reasons for this increased demand and how the Irish travel professional can turn knowledge to advantage.

First, German cities such as Berlin and Munich are still ‘hot’ destinations, but smaller towns – such as the ‘Historic Highlights of Germany’ – are increasingly popular due to their historic character and easy reach from major airports.
