Red Sea Holidays Charms with Sharm

Red Sea Holidays Ireland commences its weekly charter series from Dublin to Sharm el Sheikh tomorrow, Thursday 21st May, with all-inclusive prices starting at just €491 per adult sharing. Over 90 per cent of Red Sea Holidays’ entire business comes through travel agents.

Hosting travel media in Dublin yesterday were Niall McDonnell, General Manager, Red Sea Holidays Ireland; H.E. Soha Gendi, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt; and Jason Hilton, Deputy Managing Director, Red Sea Holidays UK.

Jason said: “Red Sea Holidays started in the UK in 2009 and is now the largest independent tour operator to Egypt. We are owned by Red Sea Hotels, which has 18 properties, including six in Sharm el Sheikh – where more will be acquired over the next six-to-eight months, 10 Nile cruise ships, its own ground handler in Egypt, and a sister tour operator company that offers programmes in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and – soon – the Netherlands and France.

“Travel agents have been key to our bookings from the start and provide more than 90% of Red Sea Holidays’ entire business. We take some 300 UK travel consultants to Egypt each year and we will do similarly in Ireland, with 20 going over the next two weeks and 100 over the summer.

“The inaugural 60-page Irish brochure features 20 4-star and 5-star hotels in Sharm el Sheikh (18) and Dahab (2), including the 4-star Hilton Sharks Bay Resort and the popular 4-star-plus Ghazala Gardens Hotel in Sharm.

“We will be looking at a year-round operation and adding flights into other Red Sea destinations such as Hurghada and Makadi Bay – and then we would love to direct flights into Luxor for a Nile cruise programme.

“The Red Sea team in Sharm is looking forward with excitement to welcoming our first guests from Ireland on Thursday’s flight!”

Niall added: “Guaranteed sunshine all year round, dazzling beaches, crystal clear seas and high quality hotels make Egypt the perfect place for a relaxing holiday. But there’s so much more to experience, from the abundant natural beauty of the Red Sea’s coral reefs to the majesty of its ancient monuments and, most of all, the genuinely warm welcome that the Egyptians have been perfecting for 5,000 years.

“Since the economic recovery in Ireland, the package holiday market has experienced a revival, bringing demand for value for money coupled with the desire for new destination options – and Red Sea Holidays fits this brief perfectly.

“We offer competitively priced holidays with no hidden extras, with our packages including flights, generous baggage allowance and return in-resort transfers as standard. We strongly believe that there is an excellent opportunity for Red Sea Holidays to expand its operation here over the coming years and to supply the excellent holidays that the Irish holidaymaker demands.”
