The Bavarian Zugspitze Railway is one of only four rack railways still working in Germany. The metre gauge line runs from Garmisch to the Zugspitz, the highest mountain in Germany at 2,650 metres above sea level.

View from the top

No matter what your expectations you have prior to visiting Germany’s highest mountain they are guaranteed to be surpassed. The sheer splendour of the vista from the top has got to be experienced.

Have a relaxing beer and enjoy the ambiance

Due to the popularity of this visitor attraction they are constructing a new Eibsee-Seilbahn cable car, which is due for completion in December 2017.
